The Player Sponsorship Program, commonly referred to as the PSP, was created in 2008 for the purpose of providing a source of funds to assist in the start and development of an inner city lacrosse program. In the inaugural season for PSP contributions; $10,925 was raised through the generosity of our GBYLA families. With the infusion of monies from private commerce & fundraising for our growing inner city programs, the use of the PSP fund was expanded to offer assistance with registration fees to any need base individual wishing to play lacrosse, which remains true to this day.
Player eligibility is based on an application process. First year players are eligible for full GBYLA base fee waivers. Need base 2nd year players that received a full waiver their 1st year of play must submit an application and, if approved, are eligible for half GBYLA base fee waiver. Third year players that have received PSP funding the 1st & 2nd year are ineligible for further assistance, but may look to their community lacrosse programs for financial help.
We greatly appreciate your consideration in making a donation to our PSP fund upon registering. For a PSP Application, please contact .
